NAC-ISSA January 2024 Chapter Lunch - Zero Trust
NAC-ISSA will present our chapter lunch on Tuesday, January 23 at 655 Discovery Drive. Catering is by Rosies and of course we will have a door prize! For our kickoff lunch in 2024, our own Karen Williams will be presenting on Zero Trust. Karen is the owner of Cyber Brews and is well known in the Huntsville cyber community. Topic: Zero Trust 101 Description: To provide a basic understanding of Zero Trust, its principles,goals,"pillars," and benefits. We will discuss how "Zero Trust" came about, why it's important, how it's broken down into seven "pillars" or categories, and the various mitigations used for each pillar. Speaker Bio: Karen Williams is the CEO of Cyber Brews LLC. Mrs. Williams is also an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) College of Business (CoB). She works as a Sr. Technical Advisor for Five Stones Research Corp. in Huntsville, AL. Mrs. Williams has been a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification exam preparation instructor since 2016 and obtained the CISSP - Information System Security Engineering Practitioner (ISSEP) concentration in November 2022. She has over 20 years of experience with 17 years providing cybersecurity engineering and management expertise to the Department of Defense (DoD) as a contractor. She has served on several Board of Directors and committees for cyber professional development such as ISACA, WiCyS, and ISSA.
